While metro daily newspaper readership has been
on a steady decline nationwide for more than a
decade, our suburban community newspapers continue
to grow and attract new readers. Our newspapers
reach almost 70% of all Washington area suburban
adults.

#1 Midweek Buy
Surprised? We weren’t. The research data
proves what we knew all along. That the meteoric
rise of the Washington, DC suburban population
has been a boon to our readership numbers. According
to Belden, 56% of suburban Washington adults read
our mid week newspapers in the past seven days,
compared to only 43% for the metro daily. Incredibly,
our numbers rose and theirs fell by 6% since 2002.
